#TheDigitalCarpet is an Instagram event taking place on Saturday, 9th May at 7pm local, from Hong Kong to LA. It will be inviting fashion lovers from across the globe to ‘walk the red carpet’ for the charity International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) . Guests are asked to wear their best red carpet look to take part, share and nominate, as well as to make a donation. The event will bring together a global community of fashion lovers, designers, celebrities and friends across the industry and beyond for a moment of #StyleSolidarity.
This event will create a new platform beyond the fashion industry taking a fashion for everyone approach to bringing new viewers to designers they wouldn’t normally be seen by. Brands will be able to share the red carpet spotlight through dressing themselves, friends and influencers and have the chance to be interviewed for the red carpet coverage by Popsugar host Lindsey Miller. Images will live on, in the website galleries .Guests will be invited to a live streamed after party where star hosts and celebrity guests will play a crucial role in accelerating support for this crisis.
Watch as participants around the world including Eugenie Niarchos, Bianca Brandolini, Margot Robbie, Elie Saab, Kevin McHale, Jen Atkin, Jason Wu, Tina Leung, Tiffany Hsu, Bryan Yambao, Valentino, Mary Katrantzou, Helena Bordon, Margerita Missoni, Giles Deacon, Jodie Harsh and more, sashay down the digital carpet to a backdrop of an Instagram filter created especially for the moment. Furthermore, in the run-up to the event, there will be tutorials by industry leaders in hair, make-up and styling.
The donation section will be made available via the use of an Instagram Donation Button tag, as well as directly on the website. With a prediction of more than 10,000 participants and donors to take part this will be a moment where we see press, influencers, designers and VIPs join together in a moment of solidarity for the fashion industry and for key workers.
